2025 TKI update

"The year of implementations and improvements"

As we enter 2025, we’re excited to share our vision and updates with parents. Every year, we share our thought and plans and this year is no different, as we take what we’ve learned and turn it into meaningful improvements.

Reflecting on 2024

2024 was a year of exploration and growth for TKI. Our teachers had full control over the daycare’s flow, allowing them to experiment with new approaches, activities, and methods. While not everything stuck, it was a valuable year of trial and error that laid the groundwork for 2025.

Our Vision for 2025

Building on the lessons of 2024, our focus for 2025 is improvement and refinement. The goal is to enhance our environment, and improve upon areas that we thought need help.

Planned Additions and Improvements for 2025

  1. Independence and self help focused environment

    • This will be our main theme for 2025. Throughout 2024, our teachers have been experimenting with encouraging children to help themselves wherever possible, and we’ve been thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The children have eagerly embraced tasks like disposing of their own diapers, making their beds, and washing their cups. Our goal for 2025 is to build on this success by creating an environment where they can further develop and practice these skills, fostering even greater independence and self-reliance.

this will include the addition of facilities like children friendly sink, a friendlier children shower and bathing area, and standardization of sleeping mattress.

By cultivating these habits, we aim to instill valuable qualities such as organizational skill, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility in our children, preparing them to navigate challenges with confidence and independence.

  2. Return of the Annual TKI Open House

    • After a hiatus, we’re bringing back this cherished event to connect with parents and celebrate. Exact date for the Open House will be announced later.

  3. Revamped Activity Structure

    • We’ve finalized a new daily activity framework to better align with developmental milestones and foster growth across all age groups.

parents can now learn more about our new approach and structure to daily activities planning on our newly added Activities page.

  4. New Lunch Menu

    • Since July of last year, some parents may have noticed that we haven’t strictly followed our previously curated daily menus. This is because we’ve been experimenting with a more comprehensive menu. We believe that food should be both nutritious and appealing.

Parents can now visit our newly introduced Lunch page.

  5. Interior and Exterior Updates

    • An updated interiors for TKI which includes new backdrop, multiple new interactive materials and refreshed learning materials and books.

    • Addition involving main theme of 2025, "Independence and Self-Help" such as interactive posters and related facilities(children sink, low height towel holder and others).

    • Addition of various live plants and greenery on TKI exterior.

  6. Improved Security Features

    • Installation of two additional CCTV cameras in key hotspot locations to improve safety and monitoring.

    • Exploring the feasibility of individual baby monitors for every baby cot and direct video feed to every baby's parents.

  7. TKI's T-Shirt

    • We're excited to announce that the development of TKI own t-shirt has been on going for quite some time. Parents can look forward to be able to purchase the t-shirt within this year. Stay tuned!

  8. Graduation Photo and Certificate

    • For children transitioning to preschool or kindergarten, we’re offering a special graduation photo and certificate. This is exclusive to those aged 3+ who have been with TKI for at least a year.

Operational Changes for 2025

  1. Fee Adjustment

    • Since the management change in 2021, fee adjustments have only applied to new customers, no fees adjustment has been made to existing customer as to honor agreements made under the previous management.

For the first time, we will be implementing a uniform monthly fee increase that will also apply to customers under previous agreements. Effective July 2025, there will be an RM50 monthly fee increase across the board, impacting both old and new customers.

  2. Overtime Compensation for Teachers

    • Overtime payments will now be made directly to teachers and, whenever possible, paid on the spot.

Overtime charges are now based on the pre-requested service, regardless of whether the service is utilized. Cancellations is accepted if approved by teachers prior to the agreed time.

  3. Standardization of equipment in TKI

    • This year, we aim to address an ongoing challenge regarding the diverse range of mattresses and sleeping mats currently in use. These variations have made it difficult for our teachers to arrange and store them efficiently.

In 2025, we will introduce a phased approach to standardize mattresses across all age range, except baby. Beginning in January, all transit students will be required to bring an IKEA PLUFSIG mattress.

For Pre-Kindergarten and Toddler, the transition period will extend until July 2025, by which time existing mattresses and sleeping mats should be replaced with the PLUFSIG model.

This is to streamline storage and ensure consistency for all students.

Summary

  • Thank you for being part of the TKI family. We’re excited to embark on another year of growth and improvement, together.
